Banks are cautious about transparency. Brokers want a conversation. Property portals are optimised for agents, not buyers. Nobody with the data seemed to have a financial incentive to just tell people the truth. Now that I'm out of that world, I do.

The tools are built on public government data: sale records from the NSW and Victorian Valuer General, ABS data, official stamp duty legislation. GetReal tells you what the data says, not what someone downstream of you wants you to hear. If that ever changes, this page will say so.
